i’m a mom-llennial

when i went live with my north blog, i told myself i was going to give it the summer and evaluate where i was at, if it was sustainable, and if i still enjoyed it. well, summer has come and went [crazy!!], and spoiler alert: i really really enjoy writing and connecting with you guys. i also started this blog consciously without having a really specific niche – the whole “motherhood/career/style/wellness/home” thing is quite broad. but you know what i’ve figured out? it’s my life. and through this i’ve been able i’mto really hone in on what i truly am – a mom-llennial.

i am a mom-llennial.

i love going to target, getting my starbucks, and walking around. i love a good pair of skinny jeans and a fresh gel manicure. i’m terrified of raising a kid in the day and age we are in, but being her mom is the best thing ever. i want my home to be cute, but functional. i have a voice, and the older i get the less i am caring about what people think of me [still working on this one!] i’m a mom-llennial.

so what else makes me a mom-llennial?

  • i love a good starbucks date, but most days i make my own coffee because starbucks gets expensive
  • i love my career and am not apologetic about that, but also love being a mom. the two make me a whole person.
  • i want to raise my daughter to be kind, compassionate, and strong. a lot of times i think i’m doing ok, and other days i feel like i’m totally failing. it’s a roller coaster.
  • high-waisted is the way to go for this post-baby bod
  • i love being put together, yet comfortable. leggings are my JAM
  • i eat salads for lunch so i can have reeses peanut butter cups for a snack. it’s called balance.
  • i am convinced that our kids are going to be the saving grace in this world. if i do my job and raise good humans, and things will be fine.
  • i try and rock a crop top when i can, which is NOT often
  • i love mixing high end pieces with inexpensive ones
  • i believe there is a whole lotta good in the world, and my goal is to be a little bit of good in people’s days, no matter how that shows up.

the past three+ months have been transformational for me, and i’m going to continue honing in on all things mom-llennial. because i’m not a regular mom, i’m a cool mom 🙂
