there are a couple of things that I AM HERE FOR. 1. fall. 2. new episodes of law and order: svu 3. when target launches new brands. today’s tarzhay thursday is [almost] all about prologue – target’s newest add to the brand family. in my opinion, prologue looks like banana republic and a new day had a baby. crisp, clean, and a little bit edgy, the line is perfect for the girl who wants to elevate her street style OR the girl that wants to add a little cool to her workplace chic. ovearll, here are a few takeaways:
the fabrics are really nice. i have yet to wear anything twice [it launched less than two weeks ago, you guys], but the feel and the look of the items that i have worn is top notch. definitely great for the price point.
it runs big. like, a full size if not two. who what wear has a tendency to run a half to a full size bigger; prologue runs at least a full size bigger.
while it looks like a lot of wear to work pieces, on their own, they really can be styled for weekend-wear. that being said, i plan on wearing these pieces to work, because they’re perfect in an office setting.
here are a few looks that i tried on, including what i actually ended up purchasing:
this top was super cute with the bell sleeves, but in the end i did not end up purchasing since i have something similar from banana republic last year. the jeans are actually from universal thread, and the shoes my tried and true block heel sandals that i’ve worn all summer.
ok, so full disclosure, the day i tried this outfit on, i wasn’t in love, but looking back i wish i would have purchased both. i’m ALWAYS looking for black tops with interesting details, and this top is just that. plus, joggers that are dressy enough i can wear them to work? yes plz. literally ordering this outfit as we speak.
ok, i somehow missed this sherpa vest in the lookbook, and i immediately put that in my cart when i saw it stocked in-store. cute, but runs very large. i’d size down to avoid the abominable snowman look. jeans are universal thread, and top is [old] banana republic.
this is BY FAR my fave dress that i purchased. i was worried it was going to be too short, but not only is it not, it’s a scuba-like material that washes up nicely and helps maintain the dress’ shape. i totally plan on pairing this with my favorite white sneakers for a casual friday outfit.
i’ve also rounded up some more of my favorite items for the line. i actually have a stack of pieces sitting in my closet that i haven’t tried on yet, so i’ll have another round of feedback in the very near future [hence the part I, part II].
