how to style: camo pants

“i saw cady heron wearing army pants and flip flops. so i bought army pants and flip flops.” – mean girls

love that movie, love ‘army’ pants. camo pants have become a weekly staple in my wardrobe. even though they are patterned, they’re ironically one of the most neutral and versatile pieces of my wardrobe. i won’t tell you how many pairs of camo pants i have (five), but i will tell you how i to style them so it’s effortless and you can feel confident reaching for them when you’re in a pinch and need something trendy but timeless.

with denim

an easy way to style camo pants is with a chambray shirt or with a tee (bonus points for a graphic tee!) and a denim jacket. pair with sneakers.

with leopard

camo is one of the easiest prints to print pair with. camo + leopard just makes sense. i like to either go with one big leopard piece, like a leopard top, or a few accessories, like belt + shoes or bag + necklace + belt.

with all black everything

wearing all black with that pop of camo gives a v combat chic vibe. also, my brother would kill me if he read that. 😀

with lace

the daintiness of the lace creates a great juxtaposition with the masculinity of the camo. these two textures/prints sometimes feel hard to match; just don’t think too much about it. bonus points for a peplum on top.

as athleisure

i love LOVE camo leggings. like, so much. when i wear them, i find that i style it with a lot of black and grey, but lately i’m drawn to more of a pop of color, like hot pink or yellow.
