happy tuesday, my friends! today’s my last day of work for the week, meaning i get to hunker down and enjoy the holidays with what i affectionately call my #hometeam (my fam). i feel like i grew up in the rise and taper-off of the black friday hype, meaning that i remember a time when i used to go stand in line with my mom, waiting to get into stores. fast forward a decade or so, and i am now quietly checking things off of my list on my phone while i duck into the bathroom quickly on thanksgiving. to me, this doesn’t feel like the disconnected, consumer frenzy that years past did where everyone was poring over catalogs, newspaper inserts, and watching tv ads with abandon to make sure they are getting the best deal on a new television, toy, or whatever that year’s top item was.
the best part about the new way retail rolls out it’s deals is that they are all week long. i’m sharing what i’m really excited about, both for me and for gifts (i just can’t tell you which, because my mom/SIL/friends read this blog and they are gift recipients 😉 ) so here’s what is on my radar this week:
clothing
j.crew is 40% off! (extra 40% off of sale, too!) — extra discounts for j.crew rewards members! here are my picks:
boden is 30% off. boden is one of those places that you don’t actually realize how cute the pieces are until you have them in your closet, mixed with some of what you already own. think of them like another j.crew-type. here are my picks:
nordstrom — among other things, these spanx leggings will be on sale starting wednesday! here are my picks:
beauty
beautycounter is running a 15% off sale, and it’s already live, so no need to wait until friday! if you saw my instagram this weekend you saw that i recently started using a few of their products, and so far i love them. full disclosure: i was somewhat biased that they couldn’t be effective if they were good for me, but so far, i’ve been proven WAY wrong. this eye shadow palette is my new favorite, and i’m really excited to see how using this mask (what i’m hoping is a great alternative to the cult-fave glam glow mask!) coupled with elements of the countertime line will improve some of the dark spots and discoloration + signs of aging i have going on.
wellness
sakara has 25% off of everything! this is huge! i was lucky enough to get to try some of the meals this fall, and they are AMAZING. i actually went super deep on sakara, the founders, and the company’s mission a while back, and i’m thinking pretty heavily about ordering myself a week of this just to help support my digestive and immune system in the weeks leading up to the holidays. here are my picks:
p.volve (you heard me talk about it here) also has MAJOR package sales for black friday! if you are looking for a program that is low – moderate intensity but big results, check out p.volve. it targets all of those tiny little muscles you forgot you had, along with the major groups. it’s also built on a base of physical therapy, so you know you’re building muscle to support your everyday life.
there are going to be a million more sales going on, and i’ll be sure to share things i think are REALLY great. let’s be honest, the sales are always good, but the time with family is priceless, so you can bet that’s where most of my energy will be going.
