it’s already thursday again! not going to lie … the days blend together a little when i’m on maternity leave. when i was pregnant with logan, i was really scared that i was going to love staying home so much that i wasn’t going to want to go back to work. nope, not the case. i really enjoy my job and was ready to go back. this time around, i knew that, but there was a tiny part of me that was like “oh crap, what if i like it so much this time around i’m not going to want to go back?” still no dice … i’m definitely not ready [physically OR emotionally], but i am looking forward to getting back into the swing of things with my job later this summer. again, still love what i do and more than that, my coworkers are some of the smartest, talented, and most fun people i’ve ever met. heading back will be juuuust fine *insert sunglasses smiley emoji*.
ok, but why am i telling you all of this? because i have a podcast recommendation i wanted to share! it’s funny because i can almost read my subconscious and where my focus is by what i’m gravitating towards in my podcasts. in my first trimester, i didn’t want to listen to ANYTHING to do with health, and looking back it was likely because i was just trying to survive and was working on a new role at work, so it made sense why i was listening to more #girlboss podcasts. second, third trimesters i was back to health-related podcasts. right now i’m listening to it all, but i can tell my subconscious is starting to wake up to the whole “career kelsey” because i’ve been listening to more interviews with women who have curated successful careers. ok, i’m getting REALLY long-winded.
anyways, i stumbled upon the girlboss radio podcast by sophia amuruso [of nastygal and the book #girlboss]. great interviews with really thoughtful, candid questions. like, the stuff we all really want to know. i really like the interview with tyler haney of outdoor voices [my newest legging obsession … i haven’t taken these red ones off!] i listed some of my other favorite podcasts here a while ago, and i’m working on an updated post. two hours worth of commuting time every day has be consuming a lot of audio content, and sharing is caring [also, please please PLEASE send me good podcasts and/or interviews my way! i’m always looking for things to listen to].
if you’ve hung with me this long, thanks! if you’re skipping to the cool stuff i’ve found at target, don’t blame ya. 😉
first of all, same day delivery people! i’m incredibly jealous of those of you that live in the service area [i’m too far in the boonies as of right now]. but seriously … it’s great. i used it on something for my mom the day it launched, and it worked great!
second, the cool mom tank from my previous tarzhay thursday post is back in stock in most/all sizes online! grab it while you can!
much excited to wear jumpsuits again. i can no longer find it online [it’s in stores still, though!], but be sure to check out the other a new day jumpsuits, if that’s your thing. i love a good jumpsuit since it looks like you really tried, but it’s SO EASY. it’s one piece. bonus point if you change out the belt.
i bought two pairs of these, and they are SO COMFY. i’m obsessed with anything scalloped [i have the leggings from last year], but love that i was able to snag some cute workout/athletic shorts that are different than your basic shorts. i sized up to a medium like i do in most athletic shorts [nike, athleta, etc.].
this top is so fun — technically it’s a c9 workout top, but i’m going to wear with denim shorts or some fun distressed “mom jeans.” i’d pair with a fun-backed sports bra [although that’ll be a little difficult these days, since nursing bras do not come with “fun backs” – ha!]
i’ve been wearing these leopard sandals NON STOP. they’re a fun take on the birkenstock style at a fraction of the price. i have two pair from the last two years that i still wear, so the quality is there.
a few other items i just picked up
these are finally available in stores and online!! i’ve been waiting for them since the new line launched a few months ago. super comfy and run TTS [i’m in a small].
i bought this jacket in both colors [red and black]. i LOVE the peplum detail … something fun for running around on the weekend!
i just got these for a nicer pair of biker shorts. i wasn’t sold on them until i tried them on, and the thicker band around the bottom of the leg is AWESOME for not squishing your leg and making it unflattering. they’re not athletic, but i will definitely wear them running around with a cute graphic tee and/or sweatshirt + some fun sneaks. in fact, i have an outfit in mind right now!
thanks for making it this far! have a happy thursday — i hope your weather is as nice as it is here in minnesota [at least while i’m writing this :)]
